Most of Shivaay’s critics targeted the film for the extensive story trail that had affected the teller collection directly. The film was broadcast in more than 2,400 screens across India, the first number of screens came from Single Screens while Multiplexes remains a bad charm for the Shivay collection. The major reason was posted Diwali holiday fights which was clearly won by the KJo movie. During the 3rd week, the Shivaay collection decreased considerably on numbers. The film was not able to do even 50 lakhs on the right day of work.

Ajay Devgn had a decent sequel to Bollywood, but the decision to go as a solo face in the film was worse. The film failed to follow the fan followed, and the audience remained limited in many ways. Some media and trade analysts were better off collecting Shivaay, but the public proved everything that was wrong the following days.
