Before Noor, Sonakshi played in another female film, Akira, directed by AR Murugados. The film collected Rs 5.15 crore the day of opening. While Akira has largely appealed to the single screen public due to its high octane action sequences, Noor will likely attract the multiplex crowd. Directed by Sunhil Sippy, Noor also stars Kanan Gill and Shibani Dandekar in key roles.
Speaking of his role in the film, Sonakshi told IANS: “Noor’s character is the most reliable character I’ve ever done on screen for my entire career. See, I am the type of actor that can only function when the camera is rolling. I can not go into the preparation mode or the practice method. So I had to talk to the director, understand his vision of my character and, once I understood him, I portray him to the best of my abilities. The way it behaves, reacts, struggles … Everything is so real that every one of us has gone through it at some point in our lives.
